Professional Marketing Background

Flash is a product sold by Macromedia that allows you to have an extremely dynamic environment. While not for everyone, the plug in is already loaded in the most current versions of browsers and some of the things that you can do are astounding. JavaScript and VBScript
Many web sites use JavaScript or VBScript. They are scripting languages which are downloaded with a web page and provide the bulk of the inter activity which characterizes today's World Wide Web. They are inexpensive and easy to develop, but they are also somewhat limited in capability to meet some interactive type needs.

Perl
Perl is a script language used primarily by UNIX servers which is also installed on our Windows NT systems (warning, not all commercial servers have this capacity). Perl is a high language interpreter that is used to write CGI programs. Perl is robust, and since it does not need to be compiled, the development time and flexibility is shortened.

PHP
Perl is a language used primarily by UNIX servers which is also installed on our Windows NT systems (warning, not all commercial servers have this capacity). PHP is a high language interpreter that is often used to write database quires and other systems. Often PHP programming is combined with Perl.

ASP
Active Server Pages were designed to make Microsoft servers capable of providing relatively quick and versatile programs for the Internet. They use the same languages Microsoft designed for writing to databases and stand alone programs, but they apply them to the Internet in a new way. ASP programed systems are only hosted on Microsoft NT server systems.

Java
Java is a platform independent compiled programming language that can give your web site tremendous inter activity. It is most commonly used as an applet, which is a miniature program downloaded to your web browser and run on your machine. Initial development of new applets can be somewhat expensive, but simply placing them on a page is not. Also available are Java Server Pages, which are similar in theory to Active Server Pages, but quite different in the implementation, and a little more expensive. The main problem with Java applets is their bandwidth requirement. Many people simply won't wait for them to completely download. However, in some business applications they are the best opportunity to get the necessary message out to your client.

Database Programming
On the Web today, content is king. If you can provide your users with the information they want, you will find that they come back time and again, your costs decrease as your efficiency improves. Business to business database applications are the future for all medium-to-large businesses. All our servers have full database capacity and we have design staff that can put together just the right online database or online to off line database feed system that is right for you and your clients.

Autoresponder setups and e-mail options
We install five standard autoresponders for each domain and an unlimited number of additional ones can be set up by your technical specialist or ours. (Autoresponders send a pre-written response to anyone who sends an e-mail address to one of your five pre-configured accounts.) In addition, we can offer more capacities allowing you to show more responsiveness to your customers.

How long will it take?
A 10-page static web site is usually completed in 2-3 weeks, depending on several factors. If a client provides all of the text and pictures, and if no database interaction is required, then a web site can be done in a week (depending on workload demand at the time of request). Database and more complex web sites take much longer. (For example, a full training site with five courses and operation systems took six months.)
